For them to win, they need to be ready to play and complete the "3 song demo" in a few weeks, as opposed to a few months.
Some will argue that you can push any group of tracks together and make a song. While it's true that this can be done, it's not what we musician's normally do on a stage.
What we do is perform... We PLAY music... and it's always so much better when we play it TOGETHER... as an ensemble.
It's far more rewarding to me as a listener to know that the moment I'm listening to, was captured, and that instant will never again occur. Regardless of a minor imperfection or two. I love the magic that happens when minds connect and the music becomes a living, breathing thing that is capable of conveying every emotion humanity is capable of experiencing.
But hey, that's just me drilling to the core of what the purpose of recording is; faithfully capturing the sound of an instrument, or instruments, for replication.
That's what the Dark Pines is intended for. To capture music.
But we also understand that not everyone has the luxury of sitting in a studio for 6 months while you write an album. So, you need to be efficient with your time in the studio. So, overdubs are key to making that happen.
Great drums, rhythm section, vocals, background vocals, piano, and hammond, are all acoustic elements that you'll find here, in addition to a professional mix environment based around the Custom Series 75 console, Protools and coming soon, Augsperger Duo 8's, in one of the most accurate mix rooms in the country.
